How to Get to Shangri La Beach House, Crystal Beach / Gilchrist, TX.

Bolivar Ferry

Located on the Bolivar Peninsula just across the channel from Galveston, TX.

From Houston:

Take I - 45 south to Galveston, exit Harborside Drive. Take a left under the freeway and follow Harborside until it dead ends into Ferry Rd. Make a left and get in the Bolivar Ferry line on the left side of the street. Once you cross over the channel, you will be on Hwy. 87. Follow this for about 20 miles to Beaumont St., Gilchrist, TX 77617. Take a right and the house is the 2nd on the left. Parking is under the carport and on the street. You can also park at the end of the street facing the beach. (2 cars only at the end of the street please). There is also a Beaumont St. in Crystal Beach. It is only about 8 miles down Hwy. 87. This is not the street Shangri La Beach House is on. Keep going.

From Beaumont:

Take I -10 west to Winnie, then head south on Highway 124 until you come to Highway 87. Turn right, go about 5 miles to Beaumont St. Turn left and it is the second house on the left. Parking is under the carport, on the street and at the end of the street facing the beach (2 cars only please).
